State Opioid Response Support
UW ADAI State Opioid Response (SOR) team has technical assistance and training support available for WA-based providers or clinics beginning or expanding adolescent OUD care.
The training team includes:
Alexis Ball, MD, MPP – Pediatric/adolescent medicine
Addy Adwell, DNP, RN – Adult & adolescent OUD/MOUD nurse care management
Academic Detailing & Training Options
Informal Consultation (30 minutes)
A brief call with one of the trainers to discuss a clinic’s goals, challenges, and current workflows.
Staff Training (60 minutes)
Clinics can choose one or more of the following topics:
Confidentiality in adolescent care
Engaging and working with families
MOUD for adolescents
Addressing polysubstance use
Safer use and safety strategies for youth
Toolkit of Clinical Resources
We can share sample documents and guides, including:
Sample office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) manual & treatment agreement
Buprenorphine guidelines and protocols
Sample documentation & note templates
Substance use screening tools

Information about minors' healthcare rights in WA
Resources for MOUD access, mental health care, etc.
