State Opioid Response Support


UW ADAI State Opioid Response (SOR) team has technical assistance and training support available for WA-based providers or clinics beginning or expanding adolescent OUD care.

The training team includes:

  • Alexis Ball, MD, MPP – Pediatric/adolescent medicine

  • Addy Adwell, DNP, RN – Adult & adolescent OUD/MOUD nurse care management

Academic Detailing & Training Options


Informal Consultation (30 minutes)

A brief call with one of the trainers to discuss a clinic’s goals, challenges, and current workflows.

Staff Training (60 minutes)

Clinics can choose one or more of the following topics:

  • Confidentiality in adolescent care

  • Engaging and working with families

  • MOUD for adolescents

  • Addressing polysubstance use

  • Safer use and safety strategies for youth

Toolkit of Clinical Resources


We can share sample documents and guides, including:

  • Sample office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) manual & treatment agreement

  • Buprenorphine guidelines and protocols

  • Sample documentation & note templates

  • Substance use screening tools

  • Recorded talks by Dr. Sarah Bagley, Dr. Chris Buresh, and Lara Okoloko, MSW

  • Information about minors' healthcare rights in WA

  • Resources for MOUD access, mental health care, etc.
