More about me and my practice

I am a family physician by training and have subspecialized in addiction medicine since 2003. I am certified in addiction medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and am a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. I am also a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

My practice includes outpatient and inpatient treatment of drug and alcohol problems.   In addition, I treat chronic pain and mood disorders in recovering people as I consider emotional and physical pain as the main cause of relapse in recovering persons. I have extensive experience with using buprenorphine as a detox medication, as an opioid replacement medication, and as a pain medication.

My practice is embedded in Behavioral Health Services at Providence Regional Medical Center.  We offer inpatient detoxification, intensive outpatient, buprenorphine group, and addiction medicine consultations.  I am affiliated with Valley General Hospital in Monroe for inpatient treatment.  I believe that addiction is a brain disease and strive to treat those suffering from addiction with the same dignity and respect that would be given to any person suffering from a chronic illness. Please let me know if I can be of service to you.
